Oil Filter Housing Leak, 3.9L

Hey everyone, unfortunatly I have developed an oil leak. It looks like the oil is leaking out from the oil filter housing, I'm guessing there is an O-ring in there or something?

Anyone ever need to change one of these before and if so, any advice on what part I need to buy or any tricks for changing it?

My car is 2006 with the 3.9L.

Sometimes when you change the oil, pieces of the old gasket can get left behind. Whoever did your oil change might not have cleaned everything up.

Did you get the oil changed recently?

Nope I got the oil changed about 2000 miles ago. It's not really coming from the filter, it's coming from where the filter housing connects to the engine block. I'm pretty sure I figured out what I need though. It's a rubber/metal gasket, part number 12607947. I picked it up earlier and it's getting installed today.

I hope it fixes your problem.

Its just three bolts that hold it on. IIRC I had to unbolt my AC compressor and push it out of the way to reach the top bolt of the filter housing.

Yup that's exactly what had to be done. Had to take the belt off and unbolt the ac compressor just enough to slide it out of the way. All fixed now, oil leak solved.
