Nitrous setup in an 04

I dont believe this part of the forum was up when I was on this forum last, so this info may already be elsewhere, but I thought I would share the nitrous setup I had on my l67 powered 04.

This was back when I was first getting into nitrous and I was running a ZEX kit (now I realize zex is garbage, but luckily I didn't hurt anything.

Anyways, I was spraying a 75hp shot on top of my 3.3" pulley and other mods, and the car ran QUITE well. I probably went through about 8 bottles in the time I had it on the car before it was totaled...

I had the nitrous arming switch as my "cruise control" on button. Any time the cruise light was on, and I went wide open, the nitrous would spray. I mainly did this to conceal any toggles and etc so the nitrous wasn't really detectable....

So again, there was an arming switch (cruise control), and a WOT switch (wide open throttle).

I had the nozzle mounted right in the throttle body, behind the throttle blade (on a system with a WOT switch, location of the nozzle before or after the throttle blade does not matter.

The fuel delivery side was t-ed off the shrader valve on the fuel rail by removing the valves core.

Zex is one of the only companies that uses tiny solenoids mounted in an aluminum housing. Its kinda bulky, but on the plus side it does have all your wiring/ relays integrated into one piece. I mounted it on the inner fenderwell and had it covered with a "dummy" fuse box so it looked like a wiring junction (hence why the lines are split loomed).

...but the best part of my system was the purge :)
I had the button mounted in a dead cig lighter receptical, so when you pushed the lighter in, it would purge from the Monte Carlo crest in the front bumper...

The system was deadly effective lol.
I ran 13.9 with my monte without the bottle....
It went even better WITH the bottle :)

good job looks awesome and super sneaky. what did it run on the shot?

shot car went 12.9 on a tune with the trans slipping

(for the record, that was all-out on c16 gas too. I dont think she had much left in her)

That was a cool Monte. I love the purge in the crest. Very cool idea.

How long ago was it totalled?

2 years right around now (october-november).

Some woman in a lexus decided to turn out of her lane into mine and hit me head on.

Was not fun to say the least lol.

No problem. He is the guy that did the ls4 swap into a 6gen style Monte but sadly the trans never lasted long enough to get power numbers or good track numbers then he sold it I heard.
