I just bought an 04 mc ss 3.8 v6 only has 89k on it I have had it for 32 days as of today yesterday i heard a slight knock, last night onthe way home she died 2 times, and today i started it and the low oil pressure light came on, took her back to the dealer and they told me that the lower part of the engine is blown! please help!!

 

so you've had it for 32 days, hmm, let me guess, the warranty was only 30 days!..

 

any 'lemon laws' where you're at?

 

hahah yes the warrenty was only 30 days!!! The lemon laws pertain to new vehicles less than one year old and under 15,000 miles!

 

Sounds like that engine is toast. A good rule of thumb is whenever you buy a used car, do an oil change right away. If you hear a knock or tick, then it's probably pretty low on oil and you shouldn't drive it. When the oil pressure light turns out, it's usually too late because IIRC the light will trip when pressure is around 5psi.

Wow! Terrible first experience with the car and I don't know how I could ever overcome/ forgive a first experience like that! But that is very non-typical for a 3800 motor, especial with only 89K on it. These bottom ends are nearly indestructable!

 

the oil was changed the day i got it!! and all was good till yesterday when i started hearing the knockin and I stopped drivin it and took it to the dealership this morning!!!

 

well what else did they tell you then?
