motor swap

I have a 76 Regal and just recently inherited a 454 and a turbo 400 out of an 80s dually and was wondering if the early model monte mounts will work. I've heard the monte and regal were basically the same car.

TheMonteMan 11-18-2010 05:19 AM

they should. i believe that they were all collonade(or however thats spelled cars) cars.

ROADKILL76 11-18-2010 03:15 PM

Ok that'll be great if they are interchangable

TheMonteMan 11-18-2010 03:26 PM

they should be just look for mounts from a 73 up monte carlo, chevelle,or el camino 73 through 77 are all the collonade years. not to pry but what motor is in the regal as we speak?

It's a Buick 350, I was looking into rebuilding that but its too hard to come by most of the parts. So I was told about a built 454 for $200 that ran really good so I jumped on the opportunity

yeah buick stuff is pricey. i thought you had a big block buick in it. thats why i asked. yeah 200 is but cheap for a bbc.

Very unique car. You don't see those anymore...

Nope that's one of the reasons I bought it, I'm a big fan older cars that noone ever thinks of yet has potential
