Low Engine Oil light???????????
 

I have a 2000 LS 3400. I just had a new motor put in May. For some reason if the car is left sitting for longer than 30 minutes, when you start it back up the Low Enigine Oil light comes on. But under 30 minutes the light doesn't come on. I guess it only comes onafter the engine cools down. Of course it goes out after a minute but this is real annoying. The oil level is fine. I changed the oil an it still comes on. Any suggestions! Theengine is out of a 2000 Impala 50000 miles.

Is it a low oil level light?
If so I would the sensor is going bad

If its the the oil light for low oil pressure
I would get the oil pressure checked. If its ok
Then I would replace the oil sending unit

It is the Low Engine Oil Level light. Where is the sensor?

It is on the bottom of the oil pan.Good luck,I have the same problem,and changed out the sensor and still have the problem.
