K & N Filter Review
Looking at getting one of these in the future, just wanted to know if anyone has used them? 57-3045 - K&N 57 Series FIPK, Performance Intake Kit direct from K&N

CAI is a better cold air system and they're also a sponsor here on the forum.........

oh they are? I thought K&N was top thing? Whats the price difference do we get discounts because they sponsor? :p

2000 - V-6 3.8L - Monte Carlo - Chevrolet - Cold Air Intakes - Store
CAI $259.00 + $15 shipping K&N $294.00 + $0.00 for shipping, depending how fast you want it? Personal preference for me is why they're better and lots of opinions from here dictate to me that CAI is the better choice.. No discount but great customer service and a rep is a member here.........:congrats: |
oh ok, their CAI doesnt look to bad either. I like that see through cover, do you have one on your monte?

The K&N is not $294. It can be found much cheaper. There are several of the 57-3045 kits on eBay for less than $230 shipped.
However, I wouldn't recommend the K&N. I had one and ended up selling it a few weeks ago. Before doing a cold air intake, what are your goals with the car and what other mods to you have or plan to do? If you just want to do a few modifications to a daily driver, my recommendation would be to save the money. |
If you're going to get a K&N you might as well just throw a cone directly on the TB :rotfl:
Get a CAI and be happy for life  |
Have a K&N kit on my gp. It sucks- does a terrible job sealing the filter from the engine bay.
