After my swap my car was shifting hard in just about every gear. I check the dip stick after a couple days and realize I didn't fill the trans fluid after the swap.(rookie mistake) I filled it up and every gear shifts fine except for reverse. It shifts hard and rough. Is there anything I can check to figure out the issue?

 

does it shift hard all the time or when the cars at an angle?

does it do it from drive to reverse or park to reverse or all the time?

 

It shifts hard between park and reverse but when I go back and forth it settles down.
When I shift between drive and reverse it shifts hard no matter what.

Haven't tried it at a angle yet.

 

What do you mean by angle?

 

As in when your car is on a hill or incline.

 

Angle as in if you parked on a hill or a slope of some sort. For instance the beginning of my driveway is a huge hill and if you park on it when you go to change the car out of "park" it will jerk out of park.

Never tried it at a angle.

 

sorry i should have said incline, chances are it's probably worse as an incline

 

ok did you get new mounts after you did the swap alot of time doing a swap the mounts look good till more torq gets put on them. then the shifting into the other gears would happen when from a cold start or sitting on a angle or incline. check them just for kicks because they can lead to trans as well as engine trouble as in some thing binding
