Rebuild or replace?

Rebuild or replace?
I was wondering if it was cheaper to rebuild the transmission or replace it. I'm getting the dreaded p1811 code. It has the slight bump when it shifts but nothing hard as if someone hit you. And of course, it's not going into lockup at all. At 45 mph, I can feel the car shift physically but the tach remains the same. Either the TCC solenoid is messed up in well or I have no 4th gear. I'm running about 2600 RPM at 55 mph on the road. This is a 01 Monte Carlo with the 4T65E tranny.

Cheaper to pick up another, but if you can find a shop that specializes (or is very familiar) with the 4t65e, and can offer you a warranty, it might be worth it. They are usually around 2200 to rebuild

Remanufactured Transmission
Hi and good morning! I have a 2001 Monte Carlo SS. and we searched and searched when my transmission bit the dust at 156,000 miles. My tranny worked in first gear, then no others.
We settled with Best Buy Transmission. They have a 5 year 100,000 mile Warranty on their Remanufactured Transmissions. My husband is cleaning under the hood today. He cleaned my engine and replaced a few parts:
1) Control Arm Bushings
2) Drivers Side Steering Boot
3) Throttle Body Gasket (Air intake) - Oh the coolant problems I've had!
4) Vacuum line connector to the throttle body (Darn thing was broken)
5) Bushings for upper front engine stabilizer (Had to go OEM, could NOT find Prothane after market ones for my car)
6) About 6 cans of Gunk Engine Brite Engine Degreaser Heavy Duty Gel
. Picture of my clean Engine and Remanufactured Transmission Attached.
I am so lucky to have my husband, he's a perfectionist. I cannot wait to get my car back!.
Good luck!
