Default Flashing CEL and slow shifts

Alright today i was testing my new hood scoop to see if it would hold on at highway speeds and i noticed something odd. My CEL, ABS, and TRAC OFF are normally on, and when i turned on the car my CEL started to blink for a few seconds and my tach was jumping a tad erratically. When i was making a turn to get onto the highway my trans got stuck for a few seconds between 2nd and 3rd and my tach jumped to about 5. Once i was on the highway i noticed that it was shifting very slowly, even when i was flooring it. The past few days my car has been shifting pretty hard, i figured it was bc i was driving a little recklessly. Now with this problem I'm a bit worried for my monte, what could be causing this?

If u need anymore info let me know

Get the codes read at autozone, if its safe to drive the car. A cat usually shows P0420 code.

You have a misfire somewhere...could be a bad ignition coil.

What year and engine is your car?

Your car is misfiring like crazy (flashing CEL) and it's throwing the car into a "safety zone" where it's pulling timing like mad.

Stop driving whenever you see a flashing cel and get that misfire fixed. Check all the plugs, wires, everything

This is just a guess, but perhaps it means one of the sensors on one of the fans is bad?
