Default engine swap

is there enough room in a 98 to fit a 3.8 supercharge engine out of the 6th gen modles? if so will it set a "SES" light or no from the other ecm that will go with the 3.8?

It'll fit. Lotta work, but there are several here that have done the swap. Reprogramming the ECM will solve the SES or CEL light problems, and you have to do that anyways.

You need to search, the L67 swap has been talked about quite a bit lately, and IMO, all the aspects are pretty completely covered- especially into a 5th gen monte.

holy cow- you did some research huh?

Add to that list: 2.3L Whipple Supercharger, Yella Terra W/A IC, PRJ fuel rails, 65# injectors, Intense oil filter relocation kit

Subtract from that list: Pioneer deck, Earthquake amps, Atomic subs, driver's side door lock.... I think you understand what happened there... GRRRR
