dont know if i have transmisson problems or not

okay so ive noticed that when im driving, going into overdrive the rpms seem to jump a bit. When im doing about 79 or 80 kmh and it shifts into overdrive, instead of dropping down to 1500rpm it goes up to about 2200-2300 then drops to 1600 then goes back up to about 1800-1900 then drops to 1500 and stays there. I have no hard shifts in any gears even when tranny is warm. Previous owner had the transmission rebuilt 6 years ago aswell. I found out that if i lift off the gas it will instantly drop to 1500 and i can go from there. There are no codes found other than the fuel level sensor. Hoping someone can shed some light on this :)

sounds like its slipping, if the engine is running away

well thing is when it does that the car is still accelerating so im not sure :p

It still sounds like its slipping, or it could be some kind of sensor issue

Check the TPS or the IAC before Id consider a trans issue...
I had a vehicle that was doing the very same thing...it turned out to be the TPS...
Yet it wasnt throwing any codes...

Ok, how would i be able to check if the TPS or IAC are bad? Also if the TPS was bad wouldnt i be getting terrible mileage and bad throttle response? Im constantly getting 9.3-9.7 l/100km so im dong pretty well for gas mileage :)

I too was still getting excellent fuel mileage..
Even the dealer couldnt figure it out....
I figured it out by happenstance..(process of elimination)
Just thought id pass the info along....
Try cleaning the TPS,... and reinstahl it...I ended up purchaseing a new TPS and problem solved...
Hope this helps!:)
