Distributor problems 74 Monte

I have a 400 small block and the car was running but I decided to replace the cap rotor and pointers and now my car does not start. Any suggestions?

Did you check to see if you have spark? Did you set the dwell on the points? Also. did you have a hard time trying to get the cap back on? If you did, its possible that you have the rotor 180* out. Also check your firing order.

One more thing that did happen to me once.

Check to see if the wire coming from the coil to the dist is still in tact. I had a hard time trying to get my Apache started and found the wire was only held together by only the sheath. Replaced the wire and it fired right back up.

yeah make sure you check your firing order and coil. small block chevy 18436572. personally i would say nows the time to switch to an hei and ditch the points. you can find them in the junkyard for insanely cheap.
