casting number problem

I am new to this and just started working on this car. I have a 72 monte that has had a 454 dropped into it by the previous owner. I am having a problem finding the casting number on it. if anyone has any words of wisdom please help.

After doing a little research... This is what I found:

Generally the Casting numbers are on the back of the block.
Near/around the bellhouseing flange!

Pls let us know what you find out.

Thank you for all the help. someone found this off of the engine for me and told me it would tell me more about the engine itself. I was wondering if you could help me decode it.
