Default Broken Monte

I was at the track this weekend when my monte started blowing white smoke. I got it home to look at it with my friend who helped me build it and we think its a blown head gasket. Also my 2nd gear is gone. It slips like crazy. Looks like a forged bottom end and new trans in the spring.

IMO scrap the forged bottom end- pick up a decent mileage used L67 or L32 bottom end.

Spend the money you save there on a well built tranny with the 1" chain and be done with it forever.

Agreed.

ZZP is using a stock bottom end on their twin turbo gp.
They've broken just about everything else except the bottom end.

Exactly -I've never seen proof of anyone breaking any of the stock bottom end parts due to too much power.

Honestly, if money is an issue in your build- your money will be much better spent on an all out transmission than an all out bottom end. If you haven't blown a trans with your setup yet, I'd say you're lucky.
