Dorman had issues with the o-rings and the elbows actually staying in the engine.

I hope that they fixed that issue when they made these...

Hm, I haven't had any issues like that... Just the typical cracking of cheap plastic

Some have had good results (I'm running Dorman) but a bunch of other people have had 2 sets of Dorman pop right back out and had to go to the GM branded ones.

They are definitely different if you compare them.

nitehawkjcb 08-21-2012 09:52 AM

Wow, guess I've been "lucky". I've been through 3 sets of them, I'm sure I always got Dorman. No pop outs, just breakage lol.

lougreen03 08-21-2012 09:48 PM

These look nice but I wonder how long the o rings will last.

Franks 03SS 08-21-2012 10:04 PM

Damn finally! :rotfl:

i let my Gm ones go with my old motor :nono: they wouldnt come out without damaging them lol i dont even think they had a months use
for my L26 i got a dorman set haha, but when/if they these break im definitely going with the alum. ones!! :)

ChibiBlackSheep 08-22-2012 08:13 AM

Supercharged SS Monte 08-26-2012 06:02 PM

Oh how I wished I knew about these! My husband and I had to replace the plastic ones on my S-Charged back in December...

I had bad luck with Dorman when I did the LIM on my Intrigue. I could tell immediately that they didn't fit right and I immediately replaced them with GM elbows.

03JGMonte 08-29-2012 04:55 PM

Where do these things go? I have yet to change mine, i prob need to :rotfl:

mairj40 08-29-2012 06:03 PM

My GM service manual is showing them on the bracket that holds the tensioner. Is that correct?

Yes.. On the passenger side of the LIM, directly below the snout of a supercharger (if you have one)

Best image I could find. The one to the right you can see go into your LIM.
