97 Monte Trans slips all gears

Okay Im a 20year old college student, this is my car a 97 monte. i have owned it for 5 years it has 156,000 miles just recently it started sliping gears. I stop at an intersection afraid to pull out into traffic cause the car slips on takeoff. Code is po756 which is shift solenoid B performance stuck on. when I shut the car off at the intersection and wait a minute I start it back up it runs great for a little while and slips again. I have decent mechanical knowledge but I cant get a definate fix on this problem, the shift solenoid B is 35.00 at Autozone, However I heard it could be a TCC or a Pressure solenoid I Mean there is like 8 differnt solenoids it could be, so do I just start throwing money at this thing, does anybody Know a good fix or a good starting point. And will the trans have to be removed to get to these magical sensors?

It sounds like your options are going to be a rebuild or a used replacement.

Sometimes the labor on these is killer, and if it's slipping all the time IDK if it's just one problem. I had tranny issues not too long ago, and I just opted to find a decent mileage used one and slap it in there for about $400 less than repairing and $1200 less than rebuilding
