Default 4t65e hd 1" chain

I have Kevins ls4 turbo kit with a stock ls4 tranny. Already broke the input shaft and would love to find someone selling a 1" chain set and/
or a 300m input shaft.

Ouch! That sucks man! I have had the kit for over a year and a half now with no problems. I know that GM discontinued the 1" chain so they are extremely hard to come across. I don't know anything about the input shaft other than that Triple Edge Performance has a lot of upgraded internals that may help you. Good luck!

dang. that sucks. you think with all the money gm made over the years they could have spent some extra coin to come up with an actual high performance trans to go with their high performance fwds

To be fair to GM, they didn't plan on anyone raising the hp from 300 to 640. Anytime you beef one section of the drivetrain you add stress to the rest of it. I haven't dynoed mine yet so I don't really know what it puts down. Also although I have an ls4 drivetrain, it's not in a Monte. It is in a stretched fiero chassis with custom suspension and a Lamborghini murcielago rebody weighing 3380 lbs wet. With the drivetrain in the back I'm sure that I stress the tranny more than if it was in the front.

Haha good luck they generally run around $1000 and are very hard to find. I see one come across ClubGP every once in a while. But I did hear ZZP is working on something to be almost as reliable.

i agree with you on that but still, you can ask most of the ls4 owners on here and with minimal mods such as an intake and exhaust they still have trans problems. its not just the power output. its mostly the design of the trans and the materials gm used in them.

I see 15/16th every once in a while, should be alright.

Edit: Its not really the design of the trannys...They are a pretty good design, GM just went cheap on a few parts lol.

Not to mention you have the crossover pipe right on top of the tranny, that definitely isn't helping things.

15/16th at WBODYStore.com http://www.wbodystore.com/1516ths-In...hain-p-54.html

EDIT again...Wow 640 hp...Hmm lol..I was figuring it was a mild turbo build, maybe at around 400ish...

The info I've been given is 7/8" stretches, 15/16" breaks with expensive consequences, and 1" is unbreakable. I have no personal experience with upgrades on the stock stuff.
