2nd Broken Flex Plate
Actually Space, I am NOT doing this myself. My Chevy dealer is going to do it, and loan me an Impala overnight, if need be. Thay are as competative as most garages, and I have been working with this service mgr for 10 years now.
I was hoping my parts would be in today, but no luck.[:@]

As it says, no parts are available. Doesn't matter if they said they were in stock. Doesn't matter If They charged my credit card. THEY DON'T HAVE WHAT I BOUGHT IN STOCK[:@]. They are telling me 10 working days before the flex plates ship from California, and the torque convertors they have, but they aren't powder coated yet, and a week or so before that's done[:@].
I talked to Brian at Intense Racing, Steve at Certified Transmissions, who builds ZZP's tranny's, and Roger at R & B Performance in Niles, and ALL of them said basically the same thing: I didn't break my flex plate, it was mis-installed![:@] Of course, since I've modded my car, GM won't stand behind the warranty, so I'm SOL[:@]. Everyone says there was probably a locating dowel not installed, loose bolts, or something else improperly done. So, I have no parts, and now I can't have my dealer do the install, just because.[:@]
Where do I stand? Steve said his tranny in Zoomers GP (ZZPerformance) is cranking out 900hp (9.01 in the 1/4) on a FACTORY flex plate. Intense is over 600hp on theirs with a factory plate. Nobody said I NEED this Meziere plate, and it's 1 lb heavier than factory. The ZZP 2500 stall convertor I still want, cuz it's 8 lbs lighter than stock. So the plan is the new lighter convertor, factory flex plate, and 1 of 2 local installers to put it in, in about a week or so.[&:]

Since we don't have a transmission forum here, this is where I posted it. Why don't we have a driveline forum?
I posed this question a long time ago, and the Admin never did **** about it, probably because they're never on this site.
Mine Broke now too Wayne, so that makes two of us...
I'm having the whole new kit and caboodle installed on my car monday by ZZP... new tranny, 3.29's, etc...
Any update on your situation?
A broken flexplate is not a real common failure, even on higher horsepower engines. One thing that I have seen cause multiple flexplate failures is when one or both ofthe dowel locators that align the transmission and engine are missing. Might be something to check.
Edit: Sorry I missed that you are aware of the dowels in an earlier post. Good luck!!

I had a different garage do the repair this time. Took 1 1/2 weeks to get in. Only took them 6 hrs to do an 8 hr job, including LOF and tire rotation. NO pins missing, NOTHING wrong. I'm jealous Keagan about your new tranny with the 3.29's. Hope you got the full blown tranny, with all the bells and whistles. I ended up putting in a NEW factory L36 flex plate, as the one ZZP shipped was a well pitted used one, and for another $21 I bought a new one, I DID put in the ZZP L36 smaller diameter 2500 RPM stall converter. 8.3 lbs lighter than the stock converter and balanced at 8,000 RPM. The Mexiere flex plate was unavailable ANYWHERE. I was tempted to drive to G.R. and have them do the free install, but that would have still been about $3,500. I spent $1,000 for just the flexplate and converter install. I only drove it for a week when I wrecked it. Should get it back Monday the 25th. All new ground effects, 2 new fenders, and a complete drivers side paint job.
Also the broken flex plate is common enough that there is a service bulletin on it. GM would've paid for this repair, except for the mod's I did voided the warranty on it (oops). I fugured that if Zoomer can run his 900 hp GP with this setup, I should be able to, also.
BTW, it APPEARS to be that the L39 flex plate is stronger than the L67. Only 3 major holes instead of 4, right?
