Yeah, having this engine is really frustrating. It has a lot of potential, but everyone focused on the 5.3 SS. I have done pretty much everything I could that wasn't custom(intake, cat-back, springs, brakes, sway bars, and I've just started playing with HPTuners so I'm not sure what to expect from that). The next step is a custom cam grind and custom headers. I don't know what kind of budget you're on, but everything for this car is expensive for no real reason. The cat-back from Magnaflow is $700, more than they charge for their Z06 exhausts!

I was just looking at a '08 Impala tune file not long ago. Looks like these engines have some pretty tiny injectors in them. I don't have any datalogs from one, but I would guess that just the basic mods (intake/cat-back etc.) would max out the injectors.

Looks like larger injectors or higher fuel pressures would likely be necc. to go much beyond basic bolt ons.

Hmm, well that certainly puts a damper on things... Any idea how big the injectors are?

What kind of intake do you have/ where did you get it?

Have you done any datalogging with it yet? I'd be curious to see what sort of injector duty cycle your seeing.
