Default 2005 ss Supercharged...mod ideas

Hi,
I have a 2005 SS Monte, supercharged. I was wondering what type of mods I could do to add more HP? It is a daily driver and I only want to do what the stock drive train can handle. For example, cold air induction, Supercharger mods , etc.

Thanks!!!

I suggest reading this sticky:

Should answer most of your questions- just scroll to the L67 section.

you could get your S/C ported for some extra airflow; and your TB for that matter. you can do it yourself which is the cheap way. otherwise you can take it to a pro which will hit the wallet pretty good. I am not sure how good of gains you get from it though (for the money that is). i'm sure there are a few members on here that have theirs ported.

i am looking into getting my SC ported/polished a guy by the name of "Reptile" over on the grand prix forums came highly recommended!

here is his thread for porting. after everything is said and done, you pay $110 for the porting...that's not a bad deal at all...an additional $250 if you want it polished!

Yeah...I'd hold off on the supercharger porting and stuff like that for now if you're stock. Here's my L67 mod recommendation list, in this order:

- Scan gauge capable of recording "knock retard"
- ZZP 3" downpipe
- 180* thermostat
- Autolite 605 or 104 spark plugs
- ZZP 1.0 PCM or self tuning system (HP Tuners)
- Modular pulley system from ZZP or Intense with 3.5 and 3.4/3.3 (for race gas or cold weather depending no how it runs) pulleys
- Cold air intake (ZZP's Wizaired is my favorite)

Doing this will give you a solid 13 second ride with super mild manners, great gas mileage, and stock-like reliability (provided your car is in a good state of mechanical tune and you can get it moving OK from a stop with all that newfound power ).
