2002 Monte Carlo SS oil level sensor replacement

Just wondering if anybody has ever replaced your OIL LEVEL SENSOR? Located on front of oil pan. Mine is leaking a small amount on ground. Can this be done fairly easy? Do you need to remove oil pan? No "You Tube" videos on that. Just the oil pressure sensor. I have seen the part on line for about $54.00.

are you getting any type of code telling you the sensor is bad? if not, it could just need to be tightened or taken out and cleaned and reinstalled.

but if you need one, go to the junk yard to get one. they are super easy and in most cases free.99.

also, ref #8 on the pic below. it is super easy to replace and should only take 1min to do.

No warning light, but I degreased the lower end of engine to locate my oil drip and noticed just below the sensor was wet with some oil. Didn't want to tighten because it was plastic. But now I will give it just a little turn with wrench. Must be screwed into oil pan.
Thanks

yes, it is screwed into the oil pan. it is probably very very brittle, so be careful not to break it.

i would just go to the junk yard and grab a couple personally and swap it out.

Same procedure for an 07 ss? Have that message coming on. Oil level from stick looks good. Oil life was reset and still getting that check oil level message. Sensor?

2001 Monte Carlo SS- Oil Lever Sensor- leaking from the connector

Hi all, My 2001 Monte SS is leaking in between the oil lever sensor and the connector where it plugs into the sensor.
Wise to get just a new connector? Thanks!

Pam

Odds are you just need to replace the oil level sensor. I've had oil pressure senders fail and spray oil all over and in the connector, never even cleaned the oil off (but they do make cleaners you could spray on if you wanted), plugged it in and all good.
