i have a 1995 chevy monte carlo z34 while driving down the road at about 2400 rpm (50 mph) my car stop after going through every thing it turned out to be the timing belt some teeth broke and know my belt wont spin i am not sure if i just need to put the crank shaft back in to timing or the cam and the crank shaft. if some one could help me in the right direction i would love the help has of right now im stuck at a friends house trying to figure out how to do this timing belt i will post some picture in a few to show every one what the probelm is

you will want to look at a site called 60degreev6.com they will have a link somewhere showng how to do the Tbelt. you have to set the crank and the cams proper. from what i remember, set the crank, pull the valve covers and you can see the flat marks on the cam. GM had a tool that would bolt in and hold these flats. this tool can sometimes still be found on ebay. you release one bank turn the crank a full revolution and then release the other bank. as for the tensioner i think it screws in and you can use a paper clip to hold it until you are set to place the belt under tension again. I am not certin of which bank to release first though...
