Headlight Lens

Anybody heard of cleaning headlight lens with brake fluid? A guy showed me today on my my wifes 2001 Malibu worked good. Cleared them up good were real dirty.

I personally wouldn't use brake fluid on plastic...

Use some rubbing compound instead.

spray it with quick detail spray, let it sit for a while (5-10 mins) then rub it off..

Works great

You guys ever try it? I would not use it on my Monte but it worked great on the Malibu.

Never tried it, but if brake fluid can damage paint, I sure wouldn't use it for anything other than being brake fluid. Try googling it to see if anybody else has had good results.

what process do you use jonny?

Mask off around the lense to prevent un-needed scratches. Wetsand 1000 grit, 1500grit (optional) , compound, polish, Re-evaluate the lense. If still defective maybe a lower grit then repeat.

LOL mitch pretty much what we did to half your car.

wow, before and after looks amazing. I'd be scared to try any abrasives though, I'd f-it up somehow....... great results.
