ok everyone I havent really been into cars until I got my monte carlo about 3 months ago. I just got it back from painting monday night and last night it rained. What should I do to protect the paint? Just rinse with a hose and put an auto detailer on it?

I use Mother's wax products

You aren't supposed to use wax on a fresh traditional paint job. Get some glaze - won't last very long but it will condtion the paint. You are safe to wax 3 months after.

Footnote - Mason Auto body when they painted the Deuce prior to placing on the flames, used a new finish, which they told me I would not have to wait the 90 day prior to waxing.

Other times in the past I did have to use the glaze on the older type paint finish for 90 days before I could wax.
so I guess it would depend on the body shop's recommendation

Years ago when I had some work done on the Deuce, when I could not use wax on the car for 90 days (because of an different formula paint) my body shop (who I trust) recommend this glaze

I found glaze harder to buff out than wax (might be different now)

But like I said this last time I took her in to be customized they used a new formula paint and I could wax right away

CHECK WITH YOUR BODY SHOP .... they will tell you what to use. When you can wax.. I like Mother's 3 step process

Yes tadd but they painted on paint. Im guessing she had new parts or something or a good sand down or stripped and painted. It also depends on what rating of hardener they put on. depending on that will depend on how long you should wait till you wax it.

There really is no reason to wait that long. i would say 30 days absolute max now a days. Especially if you are putting it on by hand.

Just ask your body shop, it will depend on many variables.

I use all Adam's polishes and they have a glaze that is awesome & removes easily.

There is a trial size you can get that will get you through 90days if you need to.
