Detail of the day..

Despite not being able to detail my dads bike, I took the time for myself & detailed my moms truck, also cleaned the inside of my front rims(nasty!)

Moms truck has not seen a detail since it left the lot in 2009. Hasn't seen a wash in over a year. The paint was so dry...the drying towel actually got stuck!

Here is moms Escape:
Everything is done by hand on her truck. Came out amazing! Products used: Meguiars ultimate washnwax, ultimate compound, ultimate liquid wax.

Some paint correction/water spot removal on the hood, tape removed after a few passes with Meguiars ultimate compound.
Attachment 33917
During the wash
Attachment 33918
After washing, it still had a nasty white haze
Attachment 33919
Had to wax twice to get it glossy!:nono: First pass did not remove easy, second pass glided smooth. Meguiars Ultimate liquid wax used.
Attachment 33920
Perfect water beading & a gorgeous car in the reflection ;D
Attachment 33921
white haze gone.

Rims:
oh my god. what a difference it makes when it sits. Used a old clay bar, Mothers mag & aluminum polish, Meguiars ultimate compound & polish & liquid wax, and Meguiars show car glaze.
Attachment 33922
before. Didn't make much of a difference even after I scrubbed it with a brush.

What a nice thing you did for your mother. She is going to love you everytime her reflection pop's back at her. I use the Meguiars Ultimate Compound and Ultimate Wax extensively too. What did the Glaze do for it? See you took the time to remove your wheels and do the reverse as well. Now thats detailing!! Awesome!!

The glaze is like the ultimate polish, & it hides the imperfections well. Its also more liquid so it doesn't dry as fast.

The rims I was using with a power cone, it helped keep it wet & gave it the extra edge:rolleyes:

Your moms car looks great and so do your wheels. I do mine about twice a year.

Jen:
WOW! Really nice detail work! You worked your butt off! Nice job!:congrats:
I wish my wife had your drive and incentive, motivation and attention to detail as you do!
I just hope that I'm able to do half as much as you have done today to my Monte as well.
You have definitely inspired me... But I know physically I don't think I will ever be able to as good as a job that you have done.
Between my Rhuematoid Arthritis and my disabilitys tends to keep me from doing like you have done.
I know...your mom is very grateful to have such a wonderful daughter as you!

her truck is already filthy..:nono: oh well, it made good pictures though :)

I don't think I'll be able to do detailing too long, its killing my knees. Even if I wear a wrap during the job I'm still waking up the next day in pain. :( Sucks I'm only 22 & dealing with such troubles...
