Any hope for these rims?
 

Putting some "new" tires on them tomorrow and would like to clean up the rims. Any thing that can make these look better?

Are they polished aluminum or chrome? Get some Mothers All-Wheel cleaner (if they're chrome you can use a degreaser), and a wheel cleaning brush and clean them well.

Follow up with a claybar (Mothers again, just cut the one bar in half). If they're aluminum you can use some Mothers Mag & Aluminum polish to shine them up, followed up with a wheel wax (I like Detailer's Pro brand). Then purchase some Duplicolor Tire Wet spray and shine up those new wheels.

A lot of members have had good luck with The mothers ball that goes into a drill. It works great from what I've heard

Not aluminum, but they are coated a its started to peel. Not sure what kind of product would work on these.

If you take them to dobbs they have a wheel restoration service.

you could sand, buff, clear and buff out again before you get the new tires mounted.

No dobbs around here. Just trying to make them look better. My hubby told me that they are steel chrome. Will look for some things to clean them up. Thanks

Thats about the most you can do, some guys on the F150 forum I'm on told me If I get chrome rims to put a coat of wax on them every 4th wash to prevent peeling but not much you can do after it starts except clean up what you can and make em look the best possible.

Oops when i got to walmart. I had mothers mag/aluminum polish on the brain and seeing it was cheaper i grabbed it. Well i didnt see the not to use on chrome until after i started and saw the great results. Why are you not supposed to use it on chrome rims?
