The K&N intake for the SS, will fit the 3500, and 3900.  The only problem is that you can't use the shield put the intake and tube will fit itself.  Also with the ECM, you have to zip tie it down.   But does work also they sound it sounds mean.  I am not going to do this personally but I plan on making my own.

That is going to draw in ALOT of hot air from the engine.
I'm not sure if it will actually improve performance.  In the end it might hinder it.

That is what I was thinking without the shield.  That is y I'm not going to with it.  Just wanted to put it out there for everyone to see that the SS one will fit with some mods to it

I don't believe so.  Kind of the samething we were talking about up top.  With just that you still get a lot of engine heat which hurts performance.  But it is also only about $70.00

Yeah you would for sure get the sound from it.  That is the good thing abou the K&N one and open cone filter.  They sound great and have that cool sucking sound.  I know on ebay they make a one that is very similier to this but for the 3.4, so go check it out, should be around the same price

The heat shield really isn't going to make that much of a difference when it comes to power. A warm air intake is still warm air, even if it has a "shield". The only way your going to get respectable power out of just an intake is a true cold air, i.e. reolcating it to the wheel well or bumper.
