Import faceoff I'd comming up and I usually enter the car show since they have a domestic class. My friends wants me to race the monte as I have never ever raced and it would give me baseline numbers for future mods. What do yiu all think? Show or race? If I race any tips you can give me. I know I'd live to try it especially with that supercharger

It's 1/4 mile drag. What scares me the most is I messed up my previous monte on the freeway driving g aggressive then heard a pop and the engine seized that was on a L36 monte now I got a L67

Yeah it is scary to think your car may break. It scares me too about mine.
I am sure you have read some of the other posts about racing too but just a few things should you decide to race instead of show.
-Race in 3rd not Drive
-turn off traction control
-do not power brake-launch from idle

Learn from your past lessen. If you do race, baby it. As I recall from a previous thread, your up there on mileage. If you break it, you gotta fix it. That car is too pretty to let rot if you postpone repairs.

You know it has been over 35 years since I raced on a Drag Strip. I only had a Manual Transmission.
You know you should have a thread about modern day Drag Racing the was you do it. I think that would be very interesting, not only the driving but the equipment required as well. The 69 Chevelle SS I had ran in the 12's and the Z-28 was a very low 12 second car never quite got that into the 11's my cousin did on his Z. Both of these were 4speeds, Posi. I would usually drop at 3.5K on the Tach.I recall.
But it's been along time since I did this. I need to sit in one again and just remember. Fun stuff!

LOL There are people out there that are much better at racing and have much more experience.
I can only go by what I do and how my car reacts. As far as equipment, nothing special is really required to race. The faster and more consistent you want to be the more money you spend!! LOL
I read this somewhere but not sure where:
Cheap, fast, reliable...PICK TWO!!
