Hi `Duane,
I like it without the side trim, but wish I had it when I had to park my Monte in a parking lot...(Then I wish I had it).
I also like the NASCAR spoiler, but also like the stock look
of your Monte, along with the stock rim's...
I'd do it the way you want to `do it...It's your time & investment 4-Sure...
WoW, I'm sounding like a politician LOL
Wish you good luck & no problems...Look 4ward to seeing the finished product

Trunk lock stays.... junk rim stays.... black mirror stays... blue color stays... (actually, blue is my favorite color on a Monte), and the surfboard spoiler stays....
Well, actually, I'm going with this spoiler.

LoL `Duane, I like Rice, but not on your Monte Carlo 4-Sure...I think that spoiler would look better on your `Torino.
How much is that spoiler ? Glad you are keeping your Monte look'in stock....She's been very good 2 U..
Looking 4ward 2 your updates...

I would also maybe consider un 2 toneing it.....
I like the idea that your going to "smooth" it out (eliminateing the trim moldings)
I would even consider, smoothing over the door handles? always liked that look as well...
But definately color match those mirrors....
Looks like you have a good start on it....Looking forward to when you finish it....

I think color toning the mirrors would conflict with the black trim around the windows and that black piece down the door. The two-tone is staying too.
I looked at the pace car spoiler, but I think I like how the surfboard follows the mold of the deck better.
I've got some more sanding done this morning, I have the bondo sanded down well.I took no photographs before coming in for lunch though. I'm going to hopefully have it masked off and in primer by evening.

Duane, not a fan of that spoiler/wing you posted. I'd stay with the surfboard rather then that other spoiler.
But, if that's what you truly want to go with, bottom line, I hope it turns out the way you want (as you're the one that will be driving it all the time).

Here is hte progress. I'm doing some sanding in the tight spots where I've missed earlier and doing a little glazing puddy out in the sun where I can see very well. I've cleaned all the pieces of Bondo out of the shed and washed it down and I'm letting evertyhing dry out now. I'm going to take it back in, mask it off, and hopefully get primer on it by this evening.
I'm going to edit these pictures into the first post of the thread so when I' mdone, all my progress can be viewed by those who are reading the thread through and for those who just look at it for the firs ttime.
