I have an 03 Jeff Gordon monte and I've had it about a year. This past week I took alot of gravel and it got really dusty. One day I got out of my car and noticed that on the drivers side right above the rear tire is an extremely faint decal that says CHEV and on the passenger side over the rear tire it says ROLET. like I said it was really faint and I'd never noticed it before when my car was clean. Since then it has rained but its Kinda dusty again so I tried taking a picture. Only got one of the drivers side. I looked online but cudnt find anything about it... Anyone else see this ever? Or know what it's for and what exactly it says? I'll add the pictures I have if someone could tell me how to add pictures.

 

Hello and welcome to the forum! There are a few members here with the JG series Monte Carlo SS. How you liking it, holding up pretty good for you? Not being a seasoned JG Monte guy I can only speculate about the ghosting Chevrolet your seeing and say one of the previous owners did his own thing with the car and added a vinyl graphic. Somewhere along the way it was removed and you have either tape residue still needing removed or a paint fade around the decal. You should try and post some pictures of your JG....

Thanks I cudnt figure out how to get them on myself. And u can faintly see the HEV... I'm thinking the stickers being on once is pry most likely what happened...

I have never seen anything like that on any monte anywhere...

Heres what Im thinking happened....

It could be:
Someone used liquid shoe polish at graduation on the car...without considering what it might do to the paint, in advance...and that's whats left in the paint... Is the residual effects from the shoe polish compound?

and as a joke wrote chev on one side and rolet on the other side...
