Well I am the self proclaimed pace car driver of US101. Right now it is a gorgeous commute with the normally brown California hills turned a dazzling green. The southbound uphill 3 lanes after 129 is a trippy place to put the hammer down. Just watch out for smokey parked on the onramp from 129.

Highway 1 along the coast gets a lot of attention, and it deserves it. But it can get crowded. Between 101 and 1 there is a country road, CA129 that offers some nice curves. Just be safe, there can be farm machinery on the road.

If you have loud pipes or an unusual sounding horn the tunnel in Monterey is a good place to test the volume.

Well I'm biased since I live an hour 15 away from it, but Virginia International Raceway (VIR) is my favorite... I've officated a chump car race there, and I've taken my Torino on open house pace laps.... it has it all... tight corners for handling and lighter cars, elevation changes to really see whose suspension is tuned well, long straightaways for horsepower.... it's kind of a long track, and it has some fine accomadations on course too....

Other than that one though... I like Sebring, Road America, Watkins Glen, and Road Atlanta. I know a lot of people who love Circuit of the Americas in Austin, TX, but I don't care for it on Tv or video games at least.... another great one is Road America. That would be my pecking order at least.
