Delta IV Rocket Launch Successful On Fifth Attempt
By Space Coast Daily & SpaceRider// July 28, 2014 Update July 29, 2014
Delta IV Rocket Launch
33rd ULA mission for the U.S. Air Force
BREVARD COUNTY • CAPE CANAVERAL, FLORIDA – United Launch Alliance officials successfully launched a Delta IV rocket carrying the AFSPC4 mission satellite Monday evening at 7:28 p.m
The rocket took off from the launch pad at Complex 37 at the Cape Canaveral Air Force Station.
Launches scheduled for last Thursday, Friday and Saturday, were scrubbed due to severe weather. The launch was cancelled last Wednesday due to an issue with the ground support equipment environmental control system that supports the launch vehicle.

Launch Notes: AFSPC-4 will be the 33rd ULA mission for the U.S. Air Force. It will be the eighth of 15 planned missions ULA is slated to launch in 2014, and ULA’s 85th since the company formed in 2006.
Mission Description: The AFSPC-4 mission will deliver two Geosynchronous Space Situational Awareness Program (GSSAP) satellites to near-geosyn¬chronous orbit and will also carry an Automated Navigation and Guidance Experiment for Local Space (ANGELS) satellite.
The twin GSSAP spacecraft will support U.S. Strategic Command space surveillance operations as a dedicated Space Surveillance Network (SSN) sensor.
The GSSAP will also support Joint Functional Component Command for Space (JFCC SPACE) tasking to collect space situ¬ational awareness data, allowing for more accurate tracking and characterization of man-made orbiting objects.
The ANGELS satellite is managed by the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) Space Vehicles Directorate.
As part of AFRL’s research in advanced Space Situational Awareness (SSA), ANGELS examines techniques for providing a clearer picture of the environment surrounding our nation’s vital space assets.

The Monte hasn't had a complete detail since Spring '13. With the excellent weather we're supposed to have this week I plan on doing a complete detail to it this coming weekend. This is how it always looks with the exception of rainy days.
