New Shift ****
This is not the Monte, I did this one to my daily, the '04 Grand Am.
I swapped out the black leather wrapped shift **** for a late model Bonneville GXP ****. Back to vinyl with a metal plate pressed into it. Also, I swapped the black button for the gray button.
Thoughts?
BTW - I know the shift boot is not pulled up. The reason for it is that I hate pulling it up and seating it, so I'm waiting to finish ONE last thing, so I'm waiting.

New Shift with Gray Button:
Update:
So, the frame for the shift boot was broken since I've owned this Grand Am. I got a new boot and frame from the junk yard and had a friend who does upholstery work add some red stitching over the factory stuff. Nice little touch!!

Thanks gang. Now I'm thinking I need a couple more accent pieces lol. I already have red painted air vent trim rings.
Not looking to spend a lot on this grand am for a variety of reasons, but I like having a few custom touches.

I just added an updated pic to the end of post #1:

Man you are a Maniac, totally love the the custom one off metal palm plate idea. That actually looks pretty darn trick, what brought about that idea? I noticed the red stitching before I read your last post and was wondering if that was factory or not, very nice touch there, really brings in some racey, yet refined look to your boot.
I will give you an A++++

Thanks Greg!!
I saw that shift **** on the GXP and something felt very "Pontiac" about it and it is not very common at all. So, I figured eh, maybe a little something for the Grand Am!
