Default speed shutoff

I am detailing cars this summer and next, saving up for my Mom's 2000 Monte Carlo SS. I am just researching a little, planning what I am going to change in it when it is mine. Anyway, I have heard there is something in my comp that will keep me from going over 120 mph. Is there anyway to fix that by myself?

You'd have to get a chip for it, or get your existing ECU reprogrammed, if im not mistaking. I know HyperTech makes a programmer for the SS but I don't know if it will let you do away w/the speed limiter.

Yes, buy a re-programmed ECU. check out
www.pfyc.com or
www.zzperformance.com
they sell one for like, $215, the speed limiter is removed. and I think its actually 125 we are governed to, but anyway, that will solve that problem right there.
Now i have a question for you. When where and why are you going to be going faster than 125?
