Hi All,

I have a 2001 and trying to track down a vibration/thumping problem. I'll post it in the forums.

Thanks!

Welcome from me also anarchy1974.. I'm also a newby here...

Boost may have hit your problem.
I had a problem like that and it wound up being in the tire itself.
The cords started coming apart inside the tire and caused that same type of problem you discribed.
Also, if it's neither of those, I'd look for a warped brake rotor. They are known for
doing that on the 6 gen Montes. I had the problem on my wifes 2001 LS.

Hi Montejazz,

I just got into the mean 3800 v6 from being a rx-7 rotary nerd! LOL... So far I love it! I'm checking into mods, i'll be cruising the forum. Any suggestions would be great. So far I've only added a k&n and am planning on looking for some HP chips.

The vibration seems worse on the passenger side, and when I have added weight there - I'm going to yank the wheel & tire and get them on the balancer this weekend. Thanks for the heads up guys.

Welcome anarchy1974. I really have no idea what your problem may be, so I would just say listen to them, I mostly just wanted to say welcome.

Oh yeah, and Montejass, why the name change? I almost didnt recognize you until I saw your signature.

I wanted a monte ID rather the ID I use in all the other forums I visit.

Rotory nerd huh....... lol This forum is full mods info, if you don't see what your after please ask. As far as chips, look at a PCM programmer instead of a chip R&R. I have the Hypertech Power Programmer III that I like for simple modification, but if you want to get serious look for the DHP software @ ZZP. If you search the forum for DHP Software we have had a few discussions on it.
