Default 97 Monte won't move

I have a LS with a 3.1. It has no movement. If I raise the front wheels, the axles move the wheels. I can stop them from moving easily. The shifter cablemoves the shift lever on transaxle.

I'm thinking torque converter, pump, filter, tcc solenoid.

Mileage is 120,000

I am new to the forum.

Can you provide more details?

What happened prior to the problem?

when is the last time the trans fluid was changed?
What color is the fluid?

here's a link to a guide from TEP. Hope it's just low in fluid or a clogged filter. Just about anything else (TCC solenoid, ...etc.) will throw a code that can be read with a scan tool

Link: 4T65E No movement any range

Thank you for your time. The fluid is dark and a little stinky. I will drop the pan and see what is going on. I think the car is a pre obdII. No engine lights are on. Manufactured 2-1997.
By the way I bought it this way. Car has 120000 miles.

I am thinking it is fluid related, like a clogged filter or bad pump.

The car has 120,000 miles. I bought it this way. The fluid is dark and a little stinky. Axles move when I lift the front end off the ground. I will pull the pan and see what is going on there.

You want to have a fluid that is nice and red. So many times folks just don't pay much attention to the Transmission. I had kids that abused the Cars I bought for them. They had this impression that if it broke they would get a new one?? But I put hundreds of thousands of miles on my cars as I traveled for work and I learned early about the routine maintenance that saves you tons of money on repairs.

Once you change the Fluid in the trans you might want to add some Lucas Oil trans fluid. It will help the car shift properly and may prevent future issues.
Good Luck.
