I movedto Az from Omaha in 1985, and worked at G.M.DPG....Just before 1985 i found a 70 white 402/4sp. bench no console 12bolt car ona western Iowa farm withtrans in trunk and tired clutch. 2 buildsheets under rear seat: mine and next # was a 70 el camino SS!!!
my white car was no doubt spec order. dk blue vinyltop, 402/4sp non-ac car benchseat. custom dkblue cloth.
Trans had VIN stamped on side....and buildsheet underrearseat bottom cushion matched everything on car.
I sold car to an employee of a wealthy guy from SouthDakota. He also bought my 69 396 Pacecar convert. He quoted some info from GM about 2 prototype convertible M/C built...!!! H e said his boss was using my car to replicate one of the factory converts!!!!
I f any of you experts have info or quality rumors, I would be interested in them.
He also told me this buyer/ money guy owned a long distance phone co. service?? in S. Dakota????
