Default XFINITY/Las Vegas/Saturday

I had to really concentrate on my typing to get the title correct. I still wanted to put Nationwide, and a small part of me still wants to say Busch.

Anyway, we're off to Vegas. I'm not sure if I'll be working Saturday or not. Hopefully by then I have cable again if I don't work. My box crapped out midway through last week and I'm having to wait till Wednesday for a tech to come out (they couldn't do anything about it at the store). At least the internet works. Couldn't say that about Comcrap.

Btw, Denny Hamlin has been tapped to drive Kyle Busch's car for the next 5 races. I think Boris Said will drive some after that along with one other.

So anyway, I'll start with the picks...

#7 Regan Smith
#54 Denny Hamlin
#60 Chris Buescher

Busch series makes sense, because it is a "Bush league" of Nascar. Nationwide series makes sense, cuz its a national series. What the hell is an Xfinity? (I know - it was rhetorical)

Joe Gibbs continue with the mistake he's been making that has left him without enough talent. Putting Sprint Cup guys in your "developmental series" cars will leave you with no developed drivers. I'm not very sympathetic to Pyle Busch's situation. Maybe if he'd not driver the 54 car and/or truck all the time he'd 1) he some developed driving talent ready to go, and 2) not get injured.

Kevin Harvick ain't in this one Sgt. So my picks don't loook that much like yours...

1. Dale Jr
2. Chase Elliott
3. Denny Hamlin

My picks always look different in this league, at least!

I'm going to go with...

1) 22 - Ryan Blaney in that car this week.
2) 60 - Chris BUESCHER
3) 98 @ric @lmirola

Joe Gibbs has always done a good job of just buying everyone elses developed talent.... see also:

Matt Kenseth (Jack Roush)
Carl Edwards (Jack Roush
Kyle Busch (Rick Hendrick)

Then the talent he does develop ironically goes other places anyway. See also:

Joey Logano (Penske)
Tony Stewart (Stewart Haas)
Dale Jarrett (Robert Yates)
JJ Yeley (BK Racing)
Darrell Wallace (Jack Roush)

The talent JGRacing develops go elsewhere because he misuses/ under uses them. Aric Almirola belongs on that list too Duane. Do you remember his 1st win? It was in the Nationwide Series. He was driving for Hamlin, who had a delayed flight or something. Aric was in the lead and had lead the most laps. Then Hamlin showed up near the end of the race and they pulled Aric out of the seat. Hamlin went on to win it with the credit going to Aric. Aric wasn't even around for Victory Lane as he'd left the track PO'd and he signed with DEI the next week. Typical JGR crap....

I saw something about Harvick on my twitter feed associated with the 88 the other day. Guess I should have read into it more LOL.

I was actually at Kentucky when Logano became the youngest driver to win a Nationwide race. Interesting how he's doing better with Penske overall than he ever did with JGR.

My head says to pick Buescher, but my heart wanted to pick Ryan Reed because of his sponsor. I have a lot of diabetics in my family, and probably will develop it at some point myself.

Ryan Reeds' story is interesting. He was diagnosed a diabetic about 5-6 years ago and was told by his doctor it was so severe he would never race again. His family took him to see a specialist who said "Well do you want to race?" And he said it was all he'd wanted to do since he was a kid and he loved it and she said, "Then you're going to race." His fire suit has a device in it that monitors his blood sugar, and in his left thigh is this little piece that can give him an injection if his blood sugar drops below a certain point during a race.

That's really cool. His sponsorship is really fitting. I'm just glad they're sponsoring a car and getting that exposure. I think diabetes takes a back burner in people's minds over some things (like with the ice bucket thing for ALS) that isn't nearly as prevalent. My next tattoo is actually going to be for diabetes awareness. Likely will go on my forearm so it'll be seen more. I was originally planning to put it on my right leg, but I rarely wear shorts and I want it to be seen.

They're all rare until they happen to you. I went through a scare where I thought I had MS and had to go to a neurologist and all... they think it's "just anxiety" right now so hopefully I'm okay but....

ALS is in the same family so I could probably be a damn PA in a neurologist office at this point from all the research I've done.

Oh yeah, apparently I'm a hypochondriac. Never realized that about myself until this little incident.
