Default water leak

hey guys. there was a little water puddle under my car this morning. it wasnt antifreeze or any other fluid. there is a strange noise coming from the serpintine belt and the water seems to be leaking from the one of the pullies from the bottom. is this a bad water pump?

Not unless you have no antifreeze in your system, but you can check the bottom of pump (weep hole) to see if there is anything on or around it.

It may help to know what engine you have. But if the belt is slipping on one of the pulleys, it would make noise. What color is the fluid? Does it have any smell to it?

I have 2005 monte carlo ls with the 3.4. It's only water that's leaking. The noise from the pulley and leak apperently stop once the engine has warmed up. Could it be from condensation, rain? Or is there a problem?

Check the Level of your Cooling System by removing the Radiator Cap when the Engine is Cold.
Before adding any Coolant if it is low ... TEST the Specific Gravity of Coolant presently in there. You can get a little "Floating ***** Type" of Tester at an Auto Parts Store.
If the Specific Gravity test shows you that you just have Water in there ... You'll have to Drain and Fill the System with a 50-50 Mix of recommended Coolant.

If you live in a Region where you can experience a Hard Freeze with temps falling well below Zero ... Not having the right Anti-Freeze Protection could cost you your Engine.

Find-out the Degree of Protection you are at ... before NOT knowing costs you a fortune replacing an Engine with a cracked block that can't be fixed.

if its only water then its either ac , condensation, or melting snow (depending on where you live) no system in ur car uses JUST water.
