DON"T DO IT MAN!!

Spend the money on a small truck, S10 or Ranger. For what the towing bill, and replacement tranny will cost, you could buy a small early 90's truck. It never hurts to have the spare vehicle around either.

Default If I did that

I would sell the Monte and Buy a Ford..

I don't want an extra vehicle sitting around and I won't buy another GM.
I have had great luck with GM but they took the bailout.

For the record, GM has already started paying back their bailout money. Chrysler is the one refusing to pay back.

My Plan is to get a fish and ski and use the Monte on a temp basis since the lake is a block away.
It is a 19' Bayliner ski boat I/O w/aluminum trailer. I have pics. The Monte Carlo pulled it fine and at 100k miles, has NEVER had a tranny issue. In fact, the only issue so far is this darned intermittent starting problem...think it might have something to do with the security module????

okay so it doesnt have a ton to do with the topic. but this reminded me of the most redneck thing i've ever seen.

Back in the early/mid 90s my dad used to pull our 19 ft Jet boat which was equiped with a 455 olds. With his late 70's Trans Am hahaha

Cool... Ever have to pull it out of a crappy ramp? Pulling it down the road is not my dilemma.. It is bad ramps.. Slippery or a Drop off that the trailer gets stuck on..

My Parents pulled their 18.5ft Fish - N - Ski with a GMC Sierra for the most part. They did have a hitch on the 1984 Pontiac Firebird with the 2.5l Iron Duke 4cyl. Once in awhile they would use the Firebird and it did an excellent job pulling the boat out of ramps.

I am guessing it being rear wheel drive was the key.

Well Jeff, to tell ya the truth, I've only used 3 different ramps (I have a lakehouse where two of those ramps are great - no moss issues). The other one is a public ramp at a big lake here in NC. Again, haven't ever had a problem. Now I will say thata the water level goes right up to the bottom of my exhaust pipes, but that's never posed any issue. Guess you'd need to pick your ramps carefully!
