Default Exhaust

Has anyone thought about doing like an x-pipe set up or anything?

You mean for like true dual exhaust? I honestly don't think there is enough room under the car. You'd have to hang the pipe below instead of in the groove under the car, and you'd probably end up scraping it all the time.

Also, by looking at your user name it seems obvious, since you have an LS4 Monte, head over to www.ls1tech.com for a lot of informative information on the LS4 platform.

oh ok. I actually dont have my monte yet but its supposed to arrive at the dealership on Monday or Tuesday ready for me to pick up. Just trying to get an idea on an exhaust that is loud but doesn't crackle when at high rpms

Your best bet is probably to do a cat-back set up, or have a custom one done. If you are looking for loud and toned, I would replace your mufflers with the muffler of your choice, and see if you like the sound. If you still want it louder, replace the resonator with a smaller one. Deleting the resonator completely may give you a more raspy sound, which it sounds like you are NOT looking to have.

Ive been looking at exhaust videos and I think I like the sound of no resonator and flowmaster 44s. I want to do 3in piping but i dont want to lose hp. Should i do 2.5in or 3in?

the 2.5 should be fine unless you want to do more mods like a turbo for the ss monte that you have. then i would go with the 3" but if you are just going with the intake and exaughst i would just go with the 2.5"
