2006 monte carlo 3.9 v6 (please read) need help

Default 2006 monte carlo 3.9 v6 (please read) need help

i'm not sure if this is the right forum for my question but maybe someone can help me , i would like to know if a 350 chevy small block will fit in my engine compartment see i have a 3.9 liter v6 in the car now and i want more power and a engine i can build the way i want it to run and all the horse power i can get out of it . if the 350 small block will fit do i have to have a certain year or type i'm not sure what i need and where to get it if you can help thanks or if you can forward my thread to someone that can help thanks again but any and all help would greatly help with my project ... franklins1036

you would be able to but you would have to do some reconstruction.

It definitely would not be a drop in engine, you are talking serious modifications.

If you could get your hands on a newer 2006+ LS4 V8 (5.3L found in the SS), and the transmission, that would pretty much drop in with much less modification.

thanks for the info i had a friend tell me it would fit and no mods would have to be done i dont want to change alot about my car the monte carlo is the last of its breed for now does anyone know where i can find a 5.3 LS4 engine and i'm glad i checked on this before i bought a 350 engine but a 5.3 would fit right with no issues or problems do i need to look at the junk yards and find one where do i need to go from here and what is the estimated price on a 5.3 LS4 engine all your help and guidance is very helpful on my project .....

No complete engine swap is a "drop right in no problems" deal. There is a ton of wiring alone, not to mention mounting the engine and making everything work together since your car didnt have an option for the 5.3. Honestly, if you really need to ask us about it, you really dont have the knowledge or skills to complete the swap. Its not a backyard mechanic do it in a weekend deal. Its trial, error and alot of working out the bugs.
