6th Gen ('00-'05): No Crank No Start
#11
My bet is on the starter or the cable connected to it. If the remote start "try's" to crank but doesn't turn over and full amps are getting to the the starter, that leaves the starter. Auto part stores can bench test it.

I had this problem intermittently for about a year and a half and eventually solved it by replacing the starter. If it won't crank, one good way to test if the starter is bad or not is to connect a multimeter to the start signal wire (not the big red wire, which is always hot) of the starter and ground (it may be easier to do this at the starter relay), and see if you can measure 12V when you turn the key. If you can measure 12V, and the starter isn't turning, then you most likely have a bad starter. Before replacing it, it won't hurt to check and clean the three wire terminals that connect to the starter with a wire brush. Sometimes they can become corroded, and if you have a leaky engine they can get coated in crap pretty quickly.

Just thought of this happening to a friend of mine........
Gold and purple wire. It runs from the ignition module under the coil packs to the crank position sensor on the lower rear of the motor. Something to check I think his was shorting out or broken off.

Plumbob-yes there is a security light alternating with low battery and door ajar. That is why I tried the security relearn thing after replacing the battery, also I have never had an issue with security light prior to this
