fuel gauge problem

Default fuel gauge problem

on my 2001 monte carlo the fuel gauge shows the correct level until the car starts moving and then it goes to full. also having problem with temp gauge occationally inoperative. both gauges are in the same cluster. any ideas what is going on?

i have the same problem in my 2000 monte(Gas), think it could be just a bad sensor

The gas gauge issue is probably being caused by a bad sensor. However, the temp gauge becoming inoperable, could be caused by a bad motor.

does the fuel gauge and temp gauge have different motors , because both gauges are in the same circle cluster

Yes they do. Each needle has it's own motor.
