Default Antifreeze leak

Anyone have problems with antifreeze leaking in the 2005 Monte Carlo ? I had a 99 Monte Carlo and it leaked around the manifold.

Thanks

I know GM put crappy manifolds gaskets on and with the combo of that and Dex Cool there was a recall because of the coolant leaking. I flushed my 03's radiator out and put reg coolant in. Hopefully that should help prevent the leakage. I haven't gotten around to doing my 05 yet (I have the anti freeze, just haven't had the time to do it yet).

did you see any puddle on the ground after the car is park or was the temp rising up when stopping at the light or idling?

I had to add antifreeze 3 weeks ago and now it is down again. Don't see any puddles on the ground or leaks.

my guess is i think the coolant elbows need to be replace, those do tend to leaks. i replaced mine several months ago and i did kept adding coolant alot too. to be sure it's the elbows, get a flashlight and shine right below the the alternator cause that's where the elbows locate. look down the engine cradle and if you see wet spot around that area cause that's more likely where the coolant drip on. also look for wet or moist on the elbows. here i post pic of the elbows of what they look like.

I don't see no hot or cold mark or line on the antifreeze plastic overflow. There is one line on the bottow, that is all. On my 99 MC it had a hot and cold line.

Thanks

mine doesn't have the line for cold or hot either i add coolant just about little below the half line. there are 2 elbows trust me. one is behind the alternator. crouch down lower and look right under the alternator. when you take off the alternator you'll see it. to be sure you have a leak take your car to the shop and have them do a coolant pressure test or go to auto zone and rent one and test yourself. that's how you will know where the leaking is coming from if there is a leak.
