Default air blows out defrost only

1997 LS

I just bought this car and I am fixing various things that need tlc. I charged the A/C and it seems to cool, but it only blows out the defrost vent. Also at the same time it seems to blow warm air out the floor vents. It runs great ,so that means not likley a vac leak, right?

Any ideas , Thanks

Lowell

a vacuum is used to move a flap to direct the air to the different ports of the car, so if you can't direct the air it could be vacuum.

Remove the glove box ( 4 metal screws and 2 plastic ones on the underside). ONce the GB is out of the way, you will see the vacuum lines there. Turn on your air and go thru all the functions. listen to see if you hear and air leak. If there are no leaks, you might want to check the line under the hood. I made a How-To on fixing the underhood problem.

THat will show you where the lines are.

Also, you might have it disconected at the firewall on either side. Just something else to think about.
