RE: 06 Monte LT remote fob range
no, it's not just a software update... had mine in the shop last week for it's scheduled service, and the service advisor said there's a fix coming in the beginning of 2007, which involves putting in a whole new receiver and coax antenna/cable - and of course that will entail reprogramming the remotes as well as the tire monitor system.

If you place the FOB right under your chin, you head will be an antenna, and the range will be significantly increased. Sounds stupid , but it really works. It's great if you "lost" your car in a parking garage! Matt|ttaM

RE: 06 Monte LT remote fob range
spoke to my service advisor last week when I went in for routine service -- it's not just a software update. They've actually got to replace the receiver AND the coax antenna cable, then reprogram everything (remotes, receiver, tire monitor system, etc)
AND - they don't have the parts/fix available until sometime in the first quarter of '07...
so until then, I have to just keep clicking off my "service tire monitor system" message and stand close to the car to use the remotes... ugghhh...

your issue really doesn't have anything to do with this topic. I would say, start a new topic in the general tech section and you should get your question answered quicker, thanks.....
