Rear seat delete modification ideas
As some of you know, I have removed my bench seating (front and back) to install a racing seat and to decrease weight for racing. Upon removing the back seat, I am left with the insulation and just plain nasty looking area. I would still like it to look nice and not like my car has been the victim of upholstery thieves. I have a before pic and then one I did up in my graphics program about the idea I am working on. The black area will most likely be some sort of carpet or heavy duty material and the Monte crest, script, and year will be painted onto lightweight painters canvas and securely attached once completed. I will probably change my mind 100 times but the crest WILL be in the center. I have already started drawing it onto my canvas. The bottom deleted section will most likely be a couple of big throw pillows after I line the area with carpet or heavy material.
Here is my idea:
As it sits now

Barbara:
I would consider enclosing that area with either Aluminum or sheet metal...
Are you using a fuel cell? or the stock tank?
Either way as a safety precaution.. I would close that area up with something that would keep a possible fire out of the drivers compartment.

I am using a stock tank. I am thinking metal of some sort for that area for safety plus it serves as rigid backing for carpet attachment!! All I described above will be in addition to the metal

My back set delete closed off the passenger compartment from the trunk with a sheet of aluminum. We then took particle board and built panels for recessed amps and a forward facing sub woofer. Then black carpet front and back.

Zippy- Do you have pics you could share? Would love to see what you did? I won't have speakers or anything but just looking to clean it up back there and still have it look nice.

Started "art work"
Finally got started on this project. Have the black carpet and finally started the "art work". This is what I have so far.
