Another interior mod with LEDs
I bought a big reel of white LED's to do stuff with, and here's where I threw some of them. I've been slowly converting all the lights in my interior to LEDs. The dash is all blue along with the shift indicator. I still need to do the door lock/unlock but I'm unsure of the LEDs needed for that.
I got rid of the warm white look of the stock dome and map lights and replaced them with 30 LEDs. I know there are LED bulbs you can buy on ebay to do the same thing as I did, but this was a hell of a lot cheaper and fun
I basically made a little grid out of the strips. I used the original bulb, that I intentionally burnt out by throwing them on the ground to break the filament, to attached my leads to for power and ground One map light just wouldn't break so I had to hook it up to 36 volts to burn it out (24 wouldn't do it!). The burnt bulb plugs back in, and then I mounted the LEDs below the bulb.
Anyway.. here are some pics. It's hard to tell the difference with these pics, but you'll just have to take my word for it. It makes a huge difference and is very noticeable.

It looks like you did a GREAT job. I've been tempted to change alot of the interior lights to LED's...mostly to make the color true white rather than the yellowish light. Just seems like a really big project...especially when it's just a preference kind of thing. I don't know if you wanna be, but if i end up doing this, you're my go to for questions lol
