Default Aftermarket steering wheel module caught fire need new one

I was trying to reprogramming my stereo interface and saw a bit of smoke, I inspected it and saw nothing wring then later when driving to the hardware store it caught fire. So now I have no radio or steering wheel controls.

I am looking for a new one and staying away from Axxess and their brand.

I was thinking of getting a PAC - RadioPro5 Radio Interface - Multi but wanted some recommendations on what people use.

I would definitely let Axxess know what happened. Might get some reimbursement.
Sorry this happened. Let us know how it goes with the replacement.

Bought the PAC - RadioPro5 Radio Interface - Multi, got it price matched and installed it myself. Overall the harness and wires are smaller than the GMOS-100. Wired it up non-amplified as the premium spekaers and amp are weak as noted.

Default steering wheel controls were a bit off but the relearn procedure isn't hard and having a LED light outside to clearly see is much better. Everything works well and I'm about as happy as can be for having to get a 2nd harness.

Metra basically said "sorry" and that's it. Won't go with them again ever
